Roundday Group Wins Dual ESG Awards: One-Stop Fresh Food Supply Chain Helps Foodservice Industry Reduce Waste
On May 7, Roundday Group has received two major honors for its "One-Stop Fresh Food Supply Chain" service model, winning the "Global Views ESG Corporate Sustainability Award – Social Innovation Award" and the "GLCT ESG Logistics Sustainability Award – Gold Award for Innovative Applications."
This service model integrates cold chain logistics, post-harvest processing, and supply chain management to help foodservice operators improve supply stability, minimize food waste, and drive low-carbon transformation throughout the supply chain.
In response to growing food supply risks caused by extreme climate events, Chen Hsu-Chu, Chairman of Roundday Group, stated that fresh supply chains must enhance their resilience. The group’s strategic transformation in recent years aims to address the high levels of food loss caused by traditional, fragmented supply chains. By leveraging its cold chain resources and processing capabilities, Roundday Logistics has evolved from a traditional warehousing and transportation provider into a comprehensive fresh food supply platform. Through 13 cold chain facilities across Taiwan and two major fresh fruit and vegetable logistics parks in Dalin (Chiayi) and Pingtung, the group supports the grading and processing of fresh produce to ensure a stable supply of fresh produce for foodservice and retail channels.
Chen Hsu-Chu pointed out that the core of the one-stop service lies in creating a seamless farm-to-table supply chain. By shortening the supply chain and reducing intermediate distribution steps, the group not only lowers transportation mileage but also significantly reduces food spoilage and waste during the distribution process.
In terms of quality management, Roundday Group introduced several advanced fruit and vegetable processing technologies. According to Vice President Wong Cheng-Hsin, the group has imported intelligent ripening chambers from Japan that precisely control the ripeness of fruits such as avocados and bananas, ensuring products are shipped in optimal condition. Combined with low-temperature cold chain systems, the technologies also help extend shelf life. Furthermore, the group continues to implement automated production lines to improve efficiency and stability. It has obtained multiple international certifications, including FSSC/ISO 22000, HACCP, and organic agricultural product processing certifications. The group is also collaborating with organic farms to promote organic fresh-cut fruits, offering more natural and healthy food options.
Beyond supply stability, Roundday is actively integrating sustainability into its operations. Yang Ya-Fen, the group's Sustainability Lead, stated that Roundday provides logistics-related carbon emissions data to help partners track their emissions. The group also supports renewable energy, with solar power generation from its facilities reaching 2.86 million kWh in 2025. Regarding packaging, over 90% of the group's own produce is delivered using reusable logistics crates (RPCs) to reduce the use of single-use materials.
Roundday Group stated that receiving these two ESG awards reflects industry recognition of the value of its one-stop supply chain in reducing food loss and facilitating low-carbon transitions. As an enterprise committed to food safety and sustainability, Roundday invites more F&B partners to join this supply chain transformation to help build a more resilient, transparent, and sustainable food ecosystem.
